Job Summary: 

Works with the production team in manufacturing 3D SL material products; supports 3D quality by performing QC testing and analysis; primary function will be to support the production of both existing and new materials for 3D Systems Andover.

  • Expected to be able to weight out all materials required for batch reports and responsible for filling out the batch sheets
  • Responsible for all QC analysis and documenting all QC reports for material processing
  • The Manufacturing Technician is responsible for assisting in the movement of raw material and finished product
  • Must be capable for independently analyzing all analytical tests that are relevant to our research and development projects
  • Prepare materials and equipment for processing and use cGMP practices for processing and cleanup of tools and equipment
  • Accurate recording of all materials used in notebooks, recording, and verification of each process step on batch ingredient weight sheets and batch process forms; keep the materials in the lab organized and labeled and keep empty buckets organized and additives on the shelves
  • Perform activities to support quality department / system activities
  • Prepare reports and collect data as directed
  • Assure and coordinate calibrations of test and measurement equipment
  • Notify supervisor or supply chain when inventory of raw materials or finished product needs replenishment

Supervisor plans daily priorities, however, technician is expected to evaluate and respond to new situations, which require immediate attention.  Work is periodically reviewed at certain steps prior to completion.


Education and Training:

Technical degree preferred; knowledge and use as a forklift operator a plus


One to two years of manufacturing experience; knowledge and experience with cGMP practices a plus

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Must be able to lift 25-50lbs
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, convert from English to Metric if required
  • Knowledge and experience with basic laboratory equipment
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and leadership abilities; good oral and written communications are essential to the position
  • Solid skills in planning and organization with an ability to plan and manage multiple projects with attention to detail
  • Ability to follow directions with attention to detail
