Job Summary: 

The Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer is responsible and accountable for the Company’s quality performance.  They will operate seamlessly within the organization to drive results and establish a quality based culture.  They will lead, manage, and guide assigned aspects of the Company’s continuous improvement journey to improve its products, services, and processes.  Products include 3D printers, stereo lithography systems, selective laser sintering machines and all associated materials; Services include customer call center and field support, sales, and customer service. Processes include all the activities associated with operating the enterprise including the order-to-cash and purchase-to-pay cycles.  

Responsibilities: 
  • Working with internal functional areas to execute, measure and maintain quality performance, identify priorities, establish objectives, and execute to those objectives
  • Leading the development and implementation of controls and systems to assure high quality results of purchased and new developed products and processes.
  • Performing assigned duties associated with typical quality systems including but not limited to supplier corrective actions, inspection and tests, non-conforming materials, audits, supplier approvals, etc.
  • Preparing and performing data analysis for reports, audits, improvement plans, quality objectives, metrics, audits and communications to support quality and operating excellence
  • Resolving and improving supplier performance (i.e. delivery, quality, responsiveness, cost reductions, etc.)
  • Performing root cause analysis, the implementation of process and product controls, advanced quality planning tools, statistical analysis, testing/inspection method and resolution of problems, etc. to improve supplier performance
  • Assisting new product development teams by qualifying and new parts and suppliers via, statistical analysis, production part approval process (PPAP), audits, etc. to assure timely and effective new product launches
  • Implementing and maintaining supplier quality systems and a culture of continuous improvement internally and within the supply chain
  • Performing value added analysis to identify supply chain waste and driving cost reductions and supplier performance improvements
  • Managing, directing, and controlling supplier quality to identify, measure, communicate, and drive supplier quality performance improvements as necessary
  • Conducting, participating and training in continuous improvement events (kiazens) both internally and with key supplier to resolve quality issues
  • Travel required
Qualifications: 

Education and Training:

  • BS degree in Engineering
  • Six-Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification a plus
  • Current CQA or CQE Certifications a plus

Experience:

  • 3 years of experience in supply chain, manufacturing or related area required
  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Continuous Improvement Experience preferred
  • ISO 9000 or equivalent experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • ISO 9001 Certification
  • Root Cause Analysis tools and Corrective Action Systems
  • Advance quality planning (flowcharts, FMEA’s, control plans)
  • Statistical methods (Design of Experiments, Statistical Process Control (SPC), etc)
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Auditing, Corrective Action Systems
  • SAS, Minitab or equivalent statistical analysis software
  • MS Office (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint)
  • Oracle 11i
