VALENCIA, Calif., July 10, 2000 - 3D Systems Corp. (Nasdaq: TDSC) today announced the availability of ThermoJet® 2000 build material. The new material is flexible and adds another option for ThermoJet printer users who require more durable models.

"Our customers asked for a tougher material, and we've delivered it with ThermoJet 2000," said Clark Crawford, senior director of business development for the ThermoJet office printer. "The build material exhibits enhanced durability and establishes new uses for the models."

A group of ThermoJet printer customers tested the material to evaluate its benefits before it hit the market. "As an example of the material flexibility, one customer was able to take conceptual models of sports equipment and try them on to evaluate fit and feel," Crawford said.

According to Brian Service, president and chief executive officer, materials development for both its industrial and office product lines continues to be a top priority for the company. "The new ThermoJet build material is another example of our commitment to creating choices of materials to satisfy market needs. We are constantly investigating ways to produce products and materials that bring greater functionality and value to our customers," he said.

ThermoJet office printers quickly convert computer designs and other digital data into solid models using technology similar to ink jet printing. Instead of printing ink, the ThermoJet printer deposits layers of molten thermoplastic to build up a solid object. This allows engineers to hold, evaluate and review designs at all phases of a product's lifecycle and enables collaboration throughout supply chains.

The company's ThermoJet printers are currently used in design offices worldwide by customers such as Hasbro, Nissan and Taylor Made Golf.
