VALENCIA, Calif., Feb. 28, 2005 -
3D Systems Corporation (Nasdaq: TDSC), a leading provider of rapid 3-D printing, prototyping and manufacturing solutions, announced today that it has named Cary Love to the position of Vice President Global 3-D Printing, effective immediately. In this role, Love will manage the Company’s entire 3-D printing business globally. Love will direct all related 3-D printing sales and marketing activities, and will drive the accelerated development of an authorized 3-D printing reseller channel.
Love joins 3D Systems with 17 years’ experience in the 2-D printing industry with Xerox Wide Format, a division of Xerox Corporation (NYSE:XRX) where he held numerous progressive sales and marketing positions. Most recently, Love served as National Manager, Channel Operations, directing channel sales and marketing operations for the entire portfolio of Xerox’s large-format printers, scanners and document software management systems.
“I am delighted to welcome a professional of Cary’s experience to our team,” said Abe Reichental, 3D Systems’ president and chief executive officer. “Cary brings with him years of relevant hands-on experience in 2-D printing reseller channel development and management from Xerox where he focused on his customer’s success, delivered consistently improved results and developed strategic relationships and significant industry contacts.
“As we have mentioned previously, most 3-D CAD users today employ a 2-D plotter or wide-format printer to transmit onto paper their concepts and designs. We estimate that approximately one million 2-D plotters and wide-format printers serve the five million 3-D CAD seats deployed worldwide. We believe that a potential exists to replace or complement every other 2-D plotter and wide-format printer with the right 3-D printer and, accordingly, we are expanding our 3-D printing activities to benefit from this emerging trend. The addition of Cary Love to our senior management team in this key position is yet another significant investment we are making to ensure the success of this important initiative,” concluded Reichental.
