3D Systems Announces Newly Enhanced, Functional Software for its SLA® Systems

VALENCIA, Calif., May. 12, 2005 - 3D Systems Corporation (Nasdaq: TDSC), a leading provider of rapid 3-D printing, prototyping and manufacturing solutions, announced its plan to introduce 3D Lightyear™ 1.5 and Buildstation™ 5.5 software for use on its SLA® systems. The new software will be available for customers worldwide at the end of the second quarter.

The new Lightyear 1.5 build preparation software and Buildstation 5.5 machine control software have many new capabilities that make SLA systems more productive and enhance part quality. The extensive list of features includes support for the Windows® XP operating system, the ability to change recoat and part build parameters “on the fly,” the ability to delete parts during a build, and a high-fidelity slicer that can significantly improve the smoothness of parts.

“This is a significant software release that addresses the top requests made by SLA system customers at our annual User Group Meeting,” said Abe Reichental, 3D Systems’ president and chief executive officer. “It will be available as an upgrade for legacy SLA systems as well as installed on all new systems.
