Rock Hill, South Carolina, Sep. 26, 2007 -
3D Systems Corporation (NASDAQ: TDSC), a leading provider of 3-D Modeling, Rapid Prototyping and Manufacturing solutions, unveiled today a newly engineered material for Stereolithography systems, Accura® 48HTR Plastic, that endures the most challenging operating thermal environments.
This rigid material, available during the fourth quarter of 2007, is designed for operation in harsh high-temperature and high-humidity environments, making Accura® 48HTR Plastic ideal for automotive and electrical applications. With a high resistance to moisture and a thermal resistance of 130 degrees Celsius, this material is suitable for automotive under-the-hood testing, the production of parts that need long-term mechanical stability, electronic assemblies where heat is generated, and fluid flow visualization applications.
“With the introduction of Accura® 48HTR Plastic, we are getting a step closer to meeting and exceeding the needs of customers in demanding functional prototyping and short-run manufacturing applications,” said Abe Reichental, 3D Systems’ president and chief executive officer. “We expect to see Accura® 48HTR Plastic used in a wide variety of aerospace, industrial, electronic controls and automotive applications.”
Today, 3D Systems’ Steve Hanna, director, Stereolithography Materials, is including information on Accura® 48HTR Plastic in his presentation titled, “Master Your SLA® Plastics,” at the 3D Systems World Conference. Additional information will be available on www.3dsystems.com/pro as it becomes available.
