In building on our mission of Making Good, we’re pleased to announce a new partnership with e-NABLE, a global network of makers, inventors and designers using 3D printing to make functional prosthetic hands that are donated to people in need. In the words of our CEO Avi Reichental, this partnership allows us to “give more people the means and skills to improve their lives” by making our 3D printers, services and expertise even more accessible to prosthetics designers around the world.

As part of this partnership, we’ve collaborated with ECF to design an all-new prosthetic hand. Once available, this hand design file will be free, publicly-shared, easily adjustable for size, and printable on the Cube, CubePro and EKOCYCLE Cube. We’ll be showcasing the K-1 hand at this week’s National Maker Faire in Washington, DC. (Watch the video below to find out more.)

We will also provide technical advice on 3D printing and design to the e-NABLE community; donate 3D printers, Sense 3D scanners and Geomagic design software to university labs for prosthetic development; and co-develop curricula geared toward helping inventors and makers incorporate 3D technology into their design process.

Like no other tool, 3D technology has the power to transform impossible dreams into tangible, life-changing realities. This partnership helps us unlock that potential as we continue Making Good.
