Personalize Innovation™. Optimize Outcomes.

The 2021 AAOS Annual Meeting took place on September 1 – 3, 2021 marking it the first in-person healthcare trade show since the pandemic where our team of experts connected with orthopaedic professionals and fellow exhibitors. We enjoyed hearing about challenges and successes in our conversations, and we were excited to share our 360° approach to additive manufacturing of medical devices. It is how our experts help manufacturers accelerate device development and surgeons deliver personalized patient experiences.

From concept and design to regulatory clearance and contract manufacturing, we offer a full spectrum of technologies and services to develop implants and instruments and bring them to market faster. In fact, no matter where you are on your additive manufacturing journey, you can count on our experience and knowledge to help you navigate the process. Cervical Spine Surgeon & CEO, Additive Implants, Inc. John Ehteshami, MD shares his perspective on what sets 3D Systems apart. Watch the video.

Figure 4® Technology and Plasma Spray Shielding Tools

During the event, we showcased new levels of speed and production capabilities with our Figure 4 technology. With access to a range of innovative materials, Figure 4 enables tool-less alternatives to traditional injection molding or urethane casting processes with direct digital production of precision plastic parts, as well as same-day rapid prototyping. This cost-effective 3D printing solution for digital production allows for ease of use with our production-grade materials enabling faster turnaround.

Lastly, but certainly not least, as part of our new Figure 4 solutions, we introduced our plasma coating shield which enables machine shops to process traditionally manufactured solutions. Our Figure 4 technology enables the production of plasma spray coatings tools capable of protecting and masking medical implants during coating and sandblasting processes.
