Utilizing the 3D Systems anatomical modeling service, the surgeon provides a CT or MR scan of their patient and our team of engineers will process the data, design the model and 3D print it using our state of the art fleet of 3D printers. The model is then shipped to the surgeon for use in pre-surgical planning, pre-surgical rehearsal and educational purposes.
CJP (ColorJet Printing)
CJP models are available in opaque white or full-color and are ideal for pre-operative planning and education. These highly accurate models of bony anatomy begin with expert image processing of the CT/CBCT input data. Following segmentation, the three-dimensional files of the bone structure are sent to a Color Jet printer, utilizing inkjet printing technology. Layers of powder are bound together, forming the model in a layered fashion over the course of several hours. Following production, the models are quality control checked for accuracy before being prepared for shipment to the surgeon. These models are not meant to be used inside the sterile field.
MJP (MultiJet Printing)
MJP Models are highly accurate and can be printed using multiple materials including flexible material which is ideal for pre-surgical rehearsal. MJP printers simultaneously print and fuse together flexible and rigid material composites layer by layer at the pixel level in a variety of colors and shades including opaque, clear, black or white and numerous shades of gray. 3D Systems’ printed multi-material composites result in stunningly realistic, functional, large and small models. These models are not meant to be used inside the sterile field.
