Medical Modeling is pleased to be involved with the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of Natural History as a Financial Contributor and Collaborator with their exhibit entitled, "Written in Bone: Forensic Files of the 17th-Century Chesapeake".
Written in Bone examines history through 17th-century bone biographies, including those of colonists teetering on the edge of survival at Jamestown, Virginia, and those living in the wealthy and well-established settlement of St. Mary's City, Maryland. About two-dozen examples of Medical Modeling's anatomical modeling and additive manufacturing technology are on display in this exhibit, including many of the "touchable" bone models. Stereolithography (plastic skulls and other bones) and Electron Beam Melting (titanium, touchable bones) technologies were used for the exhibit. The exhibit will be on display through at least January 6, 2014.
