Gibbs and Associates, developer of GibbsCAM®, software for programming CNC machine tools, and CGTech, developer of VERICUT® software for simulating CNC machine tools, announced today a collaborative agreement between their two companies. As part of this collaboration, the two companies will provide seamless integration between their products allowing CNC programs developed by GibbsCAM to be simulated and optimized using VERICUT. In addition, GibbsCAM users will be able to directly utilize VERICUT's existing library of CNC machine models and controls, which is the largest collection available in industry today.

"Today's machine tools have reached a level of complexity and cost that necessitates accurate simulation," observes Bill Gibbs, founder and president of Gibbs and Associates. "This is especially true with advanced multi-tasking machining centers and 5-axis simultaneous milling machines. CGTech not only provides an excellent machine tool simulator with VERICUT, but it also provides the service and support that users rely upon. Users who already have VERICUT in use in their facility will be able to take advantage of the GibbsCAM/VERICUT integration to validate their CNC programs."

By simulating CNC programs on a computer without using the actual machine tool, GibbsCAM users will be able to realize significant savings and efficiencies by reducing machine cycle time, improving work quality and maximizing throughput. Possible programming errors are identified sooner without putting the actual machine tool at risk.

"CGTech's VERICUT product is recognized as the industry leader in machine tool simulation," states Bill Hasenjaeger, CGTech's Product Marketing Manager. "Machine tool advances in recent years, with the associated increase in CNC machining process complexity has made accurate machine tool and cutting simulation a requirement, beyond what was needed for simple 3-axis milling, drilling, and turning in the past. Working together, the GibbsCAM/VERICUT combination provides a comprehensive programming solution which helps to prevent programming errors from being forwarded to the shop floor--thus avoiding material scrap, machine tool damage and wasted time."

The companies will be demonstrating the GibbsCAM/VERITCUT integration for the first time at WESTEC 2007, held at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles, California on March 26th – 29th, 2007.

About CGTech and VERICUT

Headquartered in Irvine, California, CGTech specializes in numerical control (NC/CNC) simulation, verification, optimization, and analysis software technology for manufacturing.

CGTech was founded in 1988. Since that time, CGTech's software product, VERICUT®, has become the industry standard for simulating CNC machining in order to detect errors, potential collisions, or areas of inefficiency. VERICUT enables NC programmers to reduce prove-outs, virtually eliminate errors, and optimize NC programs for faster, more efficient machining.

With offices worldwide, VERICUT software is used by companies of all sizes, universities/trade schools, and government agencies. For more information about VERICUT, or to locate your local CGTech sales office, go to www.CGTech.com, call (949) 753-1050, or email info@CGTech.com .
