SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., May 18, 2000 - Geomagic, Inc. announces a new program that facilitates cooperative relationships among hardware and software companies operating in the digital duplication sphere, including vendors of 3D scanners, CAD/CAM/CAE software, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and rapid prototyping technology.

The Geomagic Solutions Partner program is designed to help hardware and software vendors understand one another's technology in order to create smoother end-to-end solutions for customers in reverse engineering, rapid prototyping, rapid tooling, industrial design and manufacturing, and related fields.

Current partners in the program include:

  • ArcSecond (www.arcsecond.com), a company specializing in the design and development of a 3D measurement and tracking technology called 3D-Intelligence (3D-I).

  • CGN an engineering and information technology firm delivering product design, information technology, visualization and training solutions to a variety of industries.

  • Geometrix (www.geometrix.com), a leading provider of technology and services for delivering real-world experiences to the Internet. Their breakthrough scanning technology, 3Scan, automatically generates complete and accurate 3D models.

  • GOM (www.gom.com), a company that offers optical measurement systems along with related consulting and support services.

  • Hymarc (www.hymarc.com), a manufacturer of high-performance 3D machine vision systems for reverse engineering and inspection applications.

  • Laser Design Inc. (www.laserdesign.com), a manufacturer of 3D laser digitizing systems used for rapid inspection applications, including verification, manufacturing, rapid prototyping, reverse engineering and process control.

“All of these technologies yield measurable productivity and quality benefits,” says Jon Fjeld, Geomagic's president and CEO. “But understanding how they all work together can be challenging. The Geomagic Solutions Partner program aims at better integrating these technologies and making them easier for our customers to implement.”
