Print Full Scale
The EXT 1070's build volume of 1070mm x 1070mm x 1118mm (42”x42”x44”) enables production of full-scale medium-to-large size parts with no need for gluing pieces together.
The base unit includes a single pellet extruder but can be equipped with up to three toolheads including a second pellet extruder, a filament extruder and a 3-axis CNC spindle. The EXT 1070 is ideal for medium-to-large part production, with applications from tooling and patterns to end-use parts.
Purpose Built. Production Ready.
The EXT 1070 Titan Pellet is a proven production additive manufacturing system for applications including patterns, molds, tooling, jigs, fixtures, end-use parts, and full-scale prototypes. Industries taking advantage of Titan technology include foundry, automotive, aerospace and defense, consumer products, and more.
Built with a welded steel frame and an industrial actively heated enclosure, the EXT 1070 is ready to produce functional, high-performance parts on the factory floor. The modular toolhead system enables customers to add a second pellet extruder, filament printing capability and/or CNC milling functionality either with initial machine purchase or after.
Pellet Extrusion on the EXT 1070
3D print with a wide range of pellet materials, from commodity feedstocks to high-temperature, high-performance materials including CF-PEI, GF-PEKK, and GF-PC. Direct pellet-fed 3D printing on the EXT 1070 also enables the use of highly flexible elastomers and high-percentage glass and carbon-filled materials. Pellet 3D printing reduces material cost by up to 10X with up to 10X higher deposition rates when compared to filament printing.
Hybrid Manufacturing on the EXT 1070
The EXT 1070 Titan Pellet incorporates our proven pellet extrusion system and may be equipped with additional toolheads on the same gantry. Adding a filament extruder or second pellet extruder enables high-speed multi-material printing. The CNC spindle toolhead allows true hybrid manufacturing, machining 3D printed parts both during and after the printing process. Taking production additive manufacturing to the next level, the EXT 1070 shortens cycle times and produces smooth, accurate end-use 3D printed parts.

Frequently Asked Questions
The EXT 1070 can support up to three toolheads on its gantry. The machine is standard with one pellet extruder. Optional configurations include adding a second pellet extruder, a milling spindle toolhead, or a single filament extruder.
The EXT 1070 LT version is limited to one pellet extruder plus filament extruders. Dual pellet or spindle configurations are not available.
Pellets, or granules, are the most affordable 3D printing feedstock available. With the dual retracting pellet extruders available on the Ext 1070, you are no longer limited to using filament extrusion to print with multiple materials. With a dual extruder system that includes one pellet extruder and one filament extruder, not only can you still print with two materials, but you can also select the right extrusion method for your application. Some examples of dual material printing include printing with a high-performance model material and a water-soluble support material out of pellets or filament, or printing with rigid and flexible materials on the same part.
No, the EXT 1070 can utilize 100s of grades of pellet materials and dozens of filament materials from the supplier of your choice. 3D Systems’ experts can recommend the right materials for your application and provide materials already proven on our systems.
Yes. During software preparation of the print file, the overall part height determines how many milling passes will be required. You may print 25mm (1in) in height, for example, then mill, then print another 25mm (1in), then mill, and so on until the fully printed and milled part is complete.
Aside from a difference in build volume (the 1070 can print more than 3X as large), the 1070 is also compatible with multiple toolheads whereas the EXT 800 is equipped with a single pellet extruder.
The primary difference is build size. The EXT 1070’s maximum print size is 1070mm x 1070mm x 1118mm (42” x 42” x 44”) while the EXT 1270 can print up to 1270mm x 1270mm x 1829mm (50” x 50” x 72”).
